Our Services

services1SVM Glasgow undertakes the design of engineering services for all types of new and refurbished buildings. We are innovative in our approach to design and close liaison with our engineers and each design team ensures that solutions are practical and maintainable. From the earliest stages of each project, design attention is paid to environmental issues and sustainability and these continue to be high priority through the design process.

SVM Glasgow staff includes:

  • Chartered Mechanical and Electrical Engineers
  • Lighting and Public Health Engineers
  • Lifts and Mechanical Handling Engineers
  • Extensive CAD experience
  • Low Carbon Energy Assessor (Scotland)

We are also Achilles Link Up registered and qualified by audit in several product codes, the most notable of which being:

  • Forced Ventilation Systems – DES
  • Electrical Installations – DES
  • Gas Installations – DES
  • Earthing and Bonding – DES
  • Lighting Equipment (Inc Luminaires and Control Equipment) – DES
  • Lighting Support Equipment – DES
  • Electric Points Heating Systems – DES

In addition to the traditional design and construction stage duties, SVM Glasgow also undertakes a wide range of other services including:

  • Dynamic thermal analysis
  • 3D Computer Modelling
  • Cost in Use Studies
  • Environmental assessments
  • Project and Construction Management

SVM Glasgow engineers are involved with the strategic management of engineering services. This includes the strategic planning of plant management and contract maintenance, mechanical & electrical condition surveys, preparation of audits and assets registers and also the design and contract management of small to medium size projects. We also have access to specialist lift consult engineers providing lift engineering and specialist engineering services both direct to clients and as a service to architects. SVM Glasgow is able to undertake the design and project management of major lift refurbishment or modernization programmes as well as new installations. In addition SVM Glasgow also provides advice on lift and escalator maintenance, code compliance, traffic studies, operational strategies and development programming.

SVM Glasgow will utilise dedicated personnel who will be deployed on the project from commencement through to completion. The core team will be led by the director of SVM Glasgow who will be responsible for all aspects of the project.

The stages of each project are meticulously planned with the greatest consideration given to value and quality. We encourage innovative thinking in the design process, but also recognise the need to contain the design development within the confines of the project objectives. On any project SVM Glasgow strive to provide the highest levels of reliability and professionalism while taking a proactive approach to any challenge.
