Welcome to our new website!  We are still tinkering to make sure that our online presence is the best that it can be but we are pleased to able to unveil our much improved home on the web.  We hope that you stop by often.

As well as our new website, we also have several new projects this month, which has proved to be a great start to the new financial year.  We have become involved in more facets of the high profile Glasgow Queen St Station refurbishment, looked at more railway station sites requiring LED replacements and two separate projects relating to railway bridges in Scotland and England.  Still with the Railway we have been instructed to commence a project involving the conversion of a boiler room to a racking store and undertake some design for office alterations both in busy depots.  Keeping these projects company are various other small scale design works at sites including a signal box, station underpass, further cycle shelter bonding and monitoring works at major station toilets.  At the opposite end of the scale, we have also been asked to consult on the design services of a major Glasgow department store.

The two biggest existing projects carrying on into the new financial year are the major railway works associated with EGIP and Queen Street Station refurbishment; however, there is still plenty more activity in the rail sector including AFA works at Scottish stations; design works related to REBs and PSPs at several sites across the country and station gateline installations.  PARR and Motherwell North Signalling Renewals works are approaching their conclusion while smaller scale works including boiler replacement and external lighting at various Railway locations are ongoing.  Snagging works for the Glasgow subway are progressing nicely while works at Partick Interchange have now kicked off.  Stepping away from the Railway, we are still maintaining our presence in the commercial sector with further CAD 3D modelling for an education suite and surveys/report production with the local authority in the North of England following some extreme weather conditions.  We continue to be involved in various hotel sites in Glasgow, the Lake District and Taynuilt; a leather manufacturing plant and various offices in our up and coming neighbouring area.

In April we have been delighted to welcome Bran Greene back to the office and the post of senior electrical engineer following an extended secondment.  We’re pleased to report that he’s already right at home back in the thriving electrical team.  The last financial year revealed a positive end of year for SVM and we would like to thank all our clients and collaborators who helped to make it so and we look forward to the challenges 2016-2017 is sure to bring.
