July can only mean one thing – holiday time! Yet while employees are jetting to and from exotic destinations in search some elusive sun, there are still plenty of hands at the pumps in the office keeping on top of all our exciting projects.
New projects that are summering with us include several new AFA schemes at varied railway locations, some station footbridge removal works and the second phase of the large scale PARR project, towards which SVM have already made a valuable contribution. We are also in the very early stages of extensive survey works for a major railway depot and for activities related to the high profile EGIP project between Edinburgh and Glasgow.
Also looking for a spot in the sun this month is the successful Scottish Borders Rail project which is edging closer to completion; external lighting at a major rail depot; some railway tunnel lighting works and small scale works at locations in Laurencekirk, Paisley and a Stirling level crossing. Existing AFA design works at Elgin and Blairhill are continuing; sites across Lincolnshire have seen further progress this month and Motherwell North Signalling Renewal works are also ongoing. To keep us from getting train sick we also have several non-railway projects underway, the largest of which being our long running project at an oil related manufacturing development at Heartlands; a car showroom in Darnley and a fault analysis case in the Fraserburgh area. In Glasgow itself we are currently still working on design for commercial premises in the North; producing survey results for multiple higher education facilities in the South and West and progressing with various office buildings and a large hotel in the City Centre.
SVM would like to take this opportunity to wish all our employees, clients and collaborators a safe and happy holiday wherever they choose to go. We look forward to everybody returning recharged and refreshed and ready to take on a host of new challenges in the Autumn.
