Delivering one of the first commercial Passivhaus buildings in Scotland, SVM undertook the contractors detailed designs on behalf of Stewart & Shield for a new community funded Passivhaus project. SVM undertook detailed Mechanical and Electrical design activities and were responsible for the development of high efficiency space heating, water services, lighting design, fire alarm & LV distribution in line with the Passivhaus ethos. The building, which contains community space, café and office accommodation, features a highly insulated and airtight fabric envelope, LTHW air source heat pump, MVHR system and high efficiency LED luminaires, Solar PV array & meets the requirements of the Passivhaus standard, ultimately provided the end user, Argyll & Bute council, with a modern, sustainable community space, enhancing the Hermitage Park area of Helensburgh for the years to come.
