A well known spot for Glaswegians and a huge transport hub for the city, Partick Interchange a thorough refurbishment to create an increased number of bus stances to accommodate increasing passenger numbers.
Partick Interchange
The high profile reinstatement of the Scottish Borders railway was the longest reopened domestic railway in the UK since the 1969 Beechings closures, and created seven new stations.

This swing bridge located in The Humber has been in operation since 1868, with SVM being brought in to assist with developing creative design solutions to improve the reliability of bridge functioning.

SVM were appointed in a number of roles throughout the EGIP/SDA project scheme delivering detailed design throughout the contract.

This landmark project involving the design of the new railway MDU facility at Turkey Yard, Cowlairs was SVM’s reintroduction to the mainstream Railway industry.

n the beautiful Perthshire countryside, Gleneagles Station is the closest transport link to the world famous Gleneagles hotel, which was the home of 2014’s Ryder Cup. the station was fully refurbished and upgraded with SVM providing design advice for the lighting and DDA elements of the works.

SVM, alongside Story Rail, undertook the design and build element of the Aberdeen and Inverness Depot IEP improvements program for Network Rail on behalf of Story Contracting Ltd.

Winner of a Saltire Award, the full redevelopment of Edinburgh’s Haymarket Station was a high profile endeavour with which SVM are very proud to have been involved.

SVM have had a continued involvement with the Glasgow Subways to undertake electrical surveys and provide reports on the supply, distribution and cabling infrastructure.

SVM have been a part of Waverley Station for many years and in various capacities, including the provision of a PE role on the wide scale refurbishment of the station and other projects.

SVM delivered the E&P LV GRIP 4/5 surveys and designs for the new 650V signalling power installations between Bedford and Kettering consisting of 2Nr. new DNO, generator and traction derived PSPs at Wellingborough and Sharnbrook, serving 4Nr. new Class II feeders.

SVM undertook both assessments and detailed design works on behalf of Kent PHK/Siemens for the Euston area enabling as part of the HS2 scheme.
HS2 Enabling Works, Euston & Kilburn
SVM undertook the GRIP 5-8 designs for the HEP east/west and HML schemes on behalf of SML. The works covered vast re-signalling and infrastructure upgrades between Perth to Inverness, and Inverness to Aberdeen.
Highland Enhancement & Highland Mainline
Delivering one of the first commercial Passivhaus buildings in Scotland, SVM undertook the contractors detailed designs on behalf of Stewart & Shield for a new community funded Passivhaus project

SVM undertook the 3Nr. workstation detailed designs for the MNSR scheme and PARR project, covering various aspects across design, renewal and modification.
Motherwell North & Polmadie & Rutherglen Renewals
SVM undertook the contractors detailed designs as part of D&B scheme for a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility for Oil States Industries (UK) on behalf of Lagan Construction/Parr Group.
